Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a ghost?
A:
A ghost is a spirit or apparition. It is the energy or soul of a person who has died. Ghosts can be
perceived in a number of ways: sight (apparitions), sounds (voices, tapping, etc), smell, touch, and sometimes just sensed.

Q: What is a haunting?
A:
There is no general pattern to a haunting which makes it hard to define. Most people assume that hauntings involve apparitions of the dead, but that is not always the case. Most hauntings involve unexplained, strange sounds and even voices and whispers. They can also include strange smells, odd sensations, cold spots, or being touched by something unseen. Some haunting may have poltergeist activity such as solid objects being moved about, doors that open and close, or lights going on and off by themselves.
Common hauntings are usually categorized into two different types; Intelligent and Residual.  With an intelligent haunting the spirit or entity is able to interact with the living. They are aware of your presence. They are described as the personality of a person who has stayed in our world instead of passing on at the time of death.

A Residual haunting can be compared to an old film or video recording. It is a scene or image that plays itself over and over. Most of these haunting occur where there has been an event that imprints itself on the atmosphere of the place. They are often replayed as smells, sounds and sometimes visual. They are often described as moving pictures and they will be unaware of the living people around them.

Q: Are ghosts evil?
A:
Traditional ghosts are not evil or harmful. Hollywood tends to portray ghost as being such, but the truth is that injuries caused directly by spirits are very rare. More people are injured from running away out of fear than anything else.

Q: What is a Poltergeist?
A:
A poltergeist is commonly known as a noisy spirit. Current research indicates that the activity may have nothing to do with ghost in some cases. Most poltergeist activity seems to center around an individual known as the ?human agent?. It is believed that the agent unconsciously manipulates physical objects in the house by psycho kinesis, the power to move thing by energy generated in the brain. Poltergeist activity will often escalate as time goes by but will peak early and then fade away.

Q: What is an EVP?
A:
EVP- Electronic Voice Phenomena. EVPs are unexplainable voices or sounds that are captured on recording devices. The voices are not heard by human ears at the time of the recording; they are only heard when the recording is played back. They usually speak in single words, phrases and short sentences, grunts and moans.

Classifications for EVP
Class A: the message can be hear clearly and people agree on what is said
Class B: Requires careful listening and not everyone agrees on what words were spoken

Class C: Often requires amplification and filtering to be able to understand it, and sometimes the words still may not be understandable.
